Items produced through elemental leather working provide bonuses to melee characters who wear leather armor such as rogues or feral druids.
Elemental leather working is one of three leather working trade skill specializations available to charactes in the World of Warcraft. The items that can be made through the elemental specialization are best suited to rogues and druids who have focused on the feral talent tree. The other two learher working trade skill specializations for leather working are tribal and dragonscale.
As with all trade skill specializations in World of Warcraft access to the elemental patterns are gained through one or more quests that commit the player to that path and once the quest giver will warn the player before the elemental leather working quest is completed that by completing the quests he agrees never to learn the tribal or dragon scale specializations of the trade skill. In order to learn the elemental path, a World of Warcraft player must be at least 40th level and have 225 skill in leather working.
Unlike the tribal leather working quest, where a character eeds to complete a series of quests before he can do the quest that unlocks the triabl leather working specialization, dragon scale leather working requires the gathering of materials that drop elemental creatures that can be found in many zones of World of Warcraft. Alliance players who have gathered these items will need to head to Searing Gorge and hand the items into Sarah Tanner.
World of Warcraft a Horde letherworking character need to travel to the Hinterlands. Horde players must seek out a Tauren NPC. When all the materials are gathered, a player will hand the items over to Brunn Winterhoof. The Horde Elmental leather working trainer is much less difficult to reach than his alliance counterpart.
The Elemental Leather working specialization is most useful to World of Warcraft rogues. The melee bonuses and the high resistances on the equipment produced by this trade skill specialization benefit rogue and feral druid characters the most. Because leather workers often pick up skinning as their complementary second profession, a player who learns elemental leather working should have a good steady source of income and should only chose a specialization if he can use the items he will make.
