Brewfest beers offer World of Warcraft players a variety of buffs in return for a little WoW gold. Sample the joys of the Thunderbrew, Gordok and T'chalis Voodoo brews!
Brewfest is World of Warcraft’s answer to Oktoberfest, when both the Horde and Alliance celebrate the wonders of beer. As might be expected, most of the achievements for Brewfest revolve around beer: finding beer, delivering beer, defending beer from the Dark Iron Dwarves, and, of course, consuming beer. Even the most dedicated player seems willing to put down a World of Warcraft powerleveling guide and spend some hard earned WoW gold on a little liquid refreshment. Strange BrewThe Strange Brew achievement requires players to sample one of every type of beer available to their faction during Brewfest. To accomplish this goal a player needs to be at least level 65, as beverages can only be consumed after certain level achievements. When a Brewfest beer is consumed several things happen. For one thing, the player character becomes intoxicated. The more alcohol consumed, the fuzzier the screen becomes. Characters have difficulty running in a straight line, and their chat conversation becomes slurred (“I said I’m not drunk,” for instance, becomes “I schaid I’m not drunk”). Consume too many beers at once and the screen becomes so fuzzy it’s difficult to tell what’s going on. On the plus side, consuming any Brewfest beer for at least ten seconds gives the player a “well fed” buff that temporarily increases certain character stats. Alliance BrewsThe dwarves are the brew masters of the Alliance, and two rival breweries, Barleybrew and Thunderbrew, set up stalls at the Alliance Beer Gardens. Barleybrew offers beverages for lower level characters, while Thunderbrew offers beer to players over level 25. Barleybrew offers the following refreshments:
Thunderbrew’s three offerings also confer bonuses on player characters:
Horde BrewsThe Horde offers beer from T’chali’s Voodoo Brewery and Drohn’s Distillery. As with the Alliance, each brewery offers three beverages with different level requirements. Drohn’s Distillery is an Orcish brewery that offers the following beers:
The T’chali’s Voodoo Brewery brings a little Troll mojo to Brewfest:
Gordok Brews: Big Drinks for Big OgresBoth Alliance and Horde Beer Gardens include Gordok Brew vendors, an ogre brewery. Unsurprisingly, Gordok Brews offers some of the most inebriating brews in Brewfest. Players who want totally smashed characters in the least amount of time should consider Gordok Brews. Gordok Brews are not for the faint of heart, nor are they for lower level characters: players have to attain at least level 55 before sampling these liver-destroying beverages:
Players who are familiar with Blizzard’s tendency to slip inside jokes and pop culture references into World of Warcraft might notice that one of the Gordok drinks, Mudder’s Milk, is a reference to the vile brew consumed by the residents of Canton in the sci-fi television series Firefly.
