A new Two Worlds add-on for the XBox 360 version, Curse of Souls adds new maps and quests plus a new player versus player arena for extended online play
Curse of Souls, the second set of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of the CRPG Two Worlds, is now available via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. The add-on, following the release of Tainted Blood, will considerably expand the online multiplayer world of Antaloor, adding four new maps, additional weapons and over 35 brand new quests plus a new player versus player challenge in which opponents battle to control a series of magical orbs within a variety of arenas.
“The online portion of Two Worlds has proven immensely popular with the game’s fans," says Melanie Mroz, CEO of Two Worlds publishers SouthPeak Games. "Curse of Souls not only offers new places to explore for the online mode, but also gives players a new opportunity to go head-to-head and see who has developed the strongest character. Combined with Tainted Blood, the first downloadable content pack, there are more hours of multiplayer gaming in Two Worlds and its DLC than you’d find in most single-player games.”
Curse of Souls can also be used in conjunction with Tainted Blood, the first Two Worlds downloadable content pack. As well as its own maps and quests, the first DLC introduced the town of Tharnburg, with its Merchant's and Gladiator Districts. In the Merchant District, players could visit a variety of shops and learn new skills while the Gladiator District naturally offered the smell of battle, as multiplayer opponents could hack it out in the midst of a huge arena.
Released in 2007 on Xbox 360 and PC formats (with a Playstation 3 version planned for this year), Two Worlds is a real-time 3D CRPG (computer role-playing game) that has garnered comparisons to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Featuring non-linear gameplay, the single-player game allows the player to complete side quests and explore the gameworld of Antaloor in whatever order he or she wishes, although there is a core quest storyline involving the rescue of the protagonist's sister and the attempt by shadowy forces to open the tomb of Aziraal, god of the orcs. The multiplayer mode is kept separate from singleplayer, with separate characters and allowing up to 8 players for Xbox 360 (or more for PC) to team up or go head to head in horse races, combat or quests.
Curse of Souls is available now for the Xbox 360 via Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 600 Microsoft points.
