Playfish has created a very addicting game called Restaurant City on Facebook.com. Just about every week there are improvements that make the game even more fun. The developers have recently added a new feature that makes Restaurant City very interactive.
The player now has the ability to manually clear the plates once a customer is finished, as well as manually fixing the toilet when it overflows and the arcade game when it breaks. These fixes must be used with caution, since there is a five second delay once the plate or video game (four seconds for toilet) has been clicked.
Don't go Click Crazy
The thing to keep in mind is that the next five second delay won’t countdown until the previous five seconds has expired. This means that if six plates/toilets/games have been clicked, the last one clicked won’t be cleared/fixed until about 30 seconds have passed.
This also means that the actual waiter/janitor cannot touch it, and half a minute is a long time where impatient customers are concerned. It is best to only click one plate/toilet/game at a time and wait five seconds before clicking another one. This gives the actual waiter/janitor time to deal with the situation. That way the player is working alongside his/her workers instead of hogging all the work. There are trophies earned for manually clearing plates and fixing toilets/games.
Restaurants Should Have Waiting Areas
To placate impatient customers it is always best to have a few extra chairs sitting around. If all tables are occupied, the new customers will sit in these chairs and wait a few seconds before leaving. Chances are another customer will finish and leave before the new customer will give up waiting. Place these chairs across the room from the front door, to force the new customers to walk to them. This will increase the amount of them they are in the restaurant.
Setting up a game room is very important and makes the restaurant look more professional. Have a few TV’s, chairs and arcade games in this area. The arcade games will also appease impatient customers for a few seconds.
Get Paid to Visit Other Restaurants
Another new addition is the ability to water neighbor’s plants as well as taking care of problems for coins, such as penguins eating fish and a bear sleeping in the restaurant. The best part about watering plants is that everyone can water anyone’s plants, whether or not they are friends or neighbors.
This is especially useful when visiting a random street to rate restaurants. While visiting to rate, plants can be watered. One coin is earned for each click, up to three coins per plant. Another way to earn a coin while visiting a restaurant is to shake the nearby trees. Every once in a while a coin will fall from one.
How Did They do That?
Anyone who has visited a restaurant and seen items stacked on top of each other has probably wondered how it is done. The developers fixed a previous stacking glitch, but at least one still remains. This is not a hack, so no one can get in trouble for doing it. Stacking the same item is the easiest, so that’s the best thing to start with. Buy two of this item, for instance two televisions. Place one in the desired location and click the checkmark.
Then go back into Redecorate. Drag the TV out of the restaurant to the green checkmark. Once the TV is behind the checkmark, let go of the mouse and then click it again. Go back into Redecorate and drag the second TV where the first TV was. Click the green checkmark and then refresh the screen. The two TV’s should now be stacked. Note: This might be fixed soon, so once stacking has been done, it is best to leave it alone.
Hacking is Cheating
There are actual hacks used to gain more coins and points, and they can be found by doing a simple search. If anyone is tempted to use any of these methods, be sure to use with caution. Other players will report those who cheat and/or will give them a lower rating.
Who knows what improvements will be added in the coming weeks, but Restaurant City keeps getting better. It is also very addictive, so play with caution.
