Kinz Pets Can Have Indoor, Underwater, Treetop, and Outdoor Options

The online educational game site Webkinz offers kids increasing options to design, decorate, and furnish rooms.

When a person first opens a Webkinz account and adopts a pet, there is an indoor room issued to the pet for free. After ten pets are adopted, Webkinz expects the owners to have pets (other than fish, which get an underwater room) to share rooms or to buy their own indoor rooms. In additon to purchasing indoor rooms of varying sizes, Webkinz users can buy outdoor yards and, if they have birds or bats on the account, treetop rooms.

Indoor Rooms

Future decorators have the most flexibility with indoor rooms. Most of the furniture and themes available for Webkinz are designed for indoor rooms, which can be purchased with Kinzcash as small, medium, or large rooms.

How to Keep Many Webkinz In One Room

Seating multiple Webkinz in one room got much easier when Ganz released the movie theater theme, because players could buy the movie theater seating (in sets of four) and easily align the seats to fit up to 40 Webkinz pets in one large room.Another option is to buy the Circus benches from the Webkinz estore, which will seat multiple Webkinz.

One caveat: it often seems like rooms take longer to load with multiple pets or a lot of furniture.

Underwater Rooms

All animals can swim in an underwater room (they are given big glass air bubbles to breath), but rooms can only be added if there is an underwater pet on the account. Most furniture, including cars, ponds, and wall art, can be added to decorate the room, and there is some furniture that is exclusive to underwater rooms.

Outdoor Yards

The large outdoor yards are fun in Webkinz World. Kids can plant seeds and grow food, which can be eaten, stored, or sold at the W Shop. There are lots of outdoor yard exclusives, and most indoor toys and plants can be placed outdoors.

One interesting feature of the Webkinz outdoor rooms is that they change with the seasons, so every winter it snows in Webkinz world, and every spring the green grass returns. Seasonal changes do not affect the temperature of Webkinz, The swimming pool water doesn't freeze, the plants still grow, and pets can safely sleep outdoors.

Treetop Yards

Webkinz accounts with flying animals can add the treetop yard, but any pet access the tree. They appear to hop on clouds. Unlike outdoor rooms, which are always daytime and sunny, treetop yard rooms change with the time of day.

The sun moves across the changing-colored sky, and the stars and moon appear at night. Outdoor furniture and toys can be placed in the treetop room, and the Kinzville News reported that Treetop exclusive furniture would be available in the future.

The popular Webkinz Insider forum has a section devoted to showing off cleverly designed rooms called "Housez in Webkinz World", so parents could create an account and help kids show off their creations.
