Roller Coaster Kingdom is a new beta game on facebook.com that allows the player to own and run an amusement park.

There is another beta game that’s worth taking a look at on Facebook called Roller Coaster Kingdom. This game gives the player his/her own amusement park, where different attractions can be bought and built into the park.

Guests for the park must be booked, and they can range from a carload to a busload. Booking these guests (or tours) can cost anywhere from $100 to $1000 coins. The more the tours cost, the more revenue is received when the guests show up, which ranges from 4 hours to 3 days.

Happy Guests are Better than Angry Guests

The times frames must be kept in mind, since the tours will leave angry if they haven’t been invited into the park (by clicking on the vehicle) within a certain amount of time. So if a day tour has been booked, the player has no more than a day to invite the guests into the park before they leave and the booking fee is lost, along with all the revenue. Email notifications can be set to be sent out before this happens, which is recommended for the player who might forget when the guests are scheduled to arrive.

Note: Neighbors are required to unlock the higher paying tours.

The parking lot size can be increased. The first upgrade requires 6 neighbors and $50,000 coins, and there are a total of three size upgrades. The other two require 10 and 15 neighbors respectively. The larger lots allows the player to book more tours, thereby bringing in more money.

Neighbors are Needed for Upgrades

The park is very small when starting the game, but the first size upgrade is free. After that, it requires a certain amount of neighbors and/or coins. These amounts do increase with each upgrade, for instance the second size upgrade costs only $10,000 coins, but 6 neighbors and $50,000 coins are required for the third size upgrade. There are 4 more size upgrades that require 10, 15, 20 and 25 neighbors respectively. The required amount of coins most certainly increases proportionately as well. Of course, cash can replace the necessary coins and neighbors, if the player chooses to go that route.

The attractions that can be purchased for the park range from food and drink to rides. They all have varying excitement levels. The higher the level, the more likely the customer will want to go on this attraction first and will repeat it. The higher the excitement, the more it costs the customer. Upgrades are available for all attractions. These cost anywhere from $750 to $10,000 coins. Neighbors are required for all upgrades beyond level two, and friends are required to run the attractions. Note: Friends do not need to be neighbors to be hired.

Upgrades are Needed for Extended Play

As is clear from what has already been discussed, having neighbors is very important in this game. It is possible to enjoy with only a few, but upgrades are very limited without them. More neighbors/friends are also important with the gift giving, which is the best of all games on Facebook (so far). It is highly recommended that before checking gifts received, send out gifts to all neighbors first.

Once that is done, then go through all received gifts and make sure to send a thank you gift. The added feature of the thank you gift enables the player to send (and receive) more than one gift at a time to the same person. If neighbors do this every day, quite a few gifts can be sent/received in one day. There is a maximum allowed to be sent per day (about 18), so make sure to send the extra gifts to favorite neighbors first.

Can Gifts be Sold?

One thing that can be confusing to new players is how to move or get rid of items on the park once they’ve been placed in the park. If some redecorating needs to be done, click on the Shop button (looks like a Ferris wheel with a dollar sign). When the shop opens, clicking on anything in the park will allow it to be moved around. Once the item is in its new spot, click it again.

There is no storage in the game, so if the player wants something removed from the park, they must use the Bulldozer button (to the right of the Shop). Gifts will be deleted, but attractions that were bought will be sold for about 30% of the purchase price. There is no notice of whether or not it will be sold or deleted until after the item is gone, so using the bulldozer needs a cautious approach.

Pathways and Lines

The last thing that will be briefly discussed is the Path button (to the left of the Shop). Pathways keep the game orderly and give the customers something to follow to the next attraction. Use the Path button whenever a new attraction is added to the park. The lines option would be used if the waiting line needs to be longer for a popular attraction.

Otherwise, if the amount of customers waiting is longer than the length of the line, they will turn away upset. Lengthening the line will keep this to a minimum. Keep in mind that old paths and/or lines need to be deleted before adding a new path and/or line. The Bulldozer button can be used to delete the old paths/lines.

Overall Roller Coaster Kingdom is a very entertaining and fun game and is recommended for all ages. It is rated high among other beta games such as Farm Town and Restaurant City.
