After playing Restaurant City and Café World for two weeks, the stronger game becomes the weaker one. Restaurant City gets better the longer it is played.

In an article written two weeks ago, Café World vs Restaurant City, it seemed that Café World was the stronger game. It is easier to earn money and advance levels. Though the longer the two games are played, the stronger becomes the weaker.

Café World

It is faster to advance levels in Café World, but expanding the size of the restaurant is harder. The cost increases with each upgrade but then half of the size upgrades are locked. There seems to be six more sizes, but they cannot be accessed. Having to remain at the same size for many levels makes the game boring. The limited items in the store also make the player wonder what is the point of continuing to play. Note: The plentiful size expansion has finally been unlocked, but it costs 125,000 coins!

Harder to Organize

It is also harder to organize the chairs and tables, due to the bulky and numerous stoves and counters. There must be a walkway around everything, and the limited access to the tables makes it even more difficult. In order to avoid customers from being ignored, tables have to be either grouped in fours or lined up like a long counter. This aspect limits how the restaurant can be decorated.

Spoiling Times

The spoiling times are another part of the game that can lose the player a lot of coins. If a five-hour dish is selected, the food must be served within ten hours or it spoils. This isn’t a problem if real life doesn’t interfere, but losing those potential sales and having to start over will lose not only coins but also the all-important thumbs up rating. Once that drops it takes quite a bit of time to increase it again.

Restaurant City

Restaurant City on the other hand has no spoiling time. It is harder to earn coins but once a dish has been learned, the chef will continue to cook it no matter how poor the player is. Every other level upgrade also increases the size of the restaurant. This is automatic and always comes with at least 1,000 extra coins.

All Restaurants need a Restroom

Once level eight is achieved the restaurant must have a restroom for the customers. At first this seems silly, but it can be quite fun to design this extra room. Since the store has a wide variety of walls, dividers, toilets and sinks, the restroom can end up quite fancy. Note: Customers only give a thumbs up if they can wash their hands when they're done, so be sure to have at least one sink.

This game has other functional items like a jukebox and a video game, which also earns the restaurant extra coins. The thumbs-up rating needs to be at least twenty before the customers will play the video game. Note: It does break down, but the janitor can fix it. So always make sure one employee is in this position, since they also clean the toilets when they overflow.

New Rating System with the Gourmet Club

A new addition to Restaurant City is a rating system. Every player can join the Gourmet Club and rate other restaurants, and also have other players rate theirs. Viewing random restaurants can give the players ideas on how to decorate their own restaurants. There is also a Gourmet Street, which shows all the best rated restaurants.

The developers recently reset all the ratings, so no restaurants are there at the moment. Now a restaurant must get at least 50 ratings before appearing. Hopefully they will show up soon, since some of these highest rated restaurants are quite amazing. They give the new player a glimpse on how far the game can go. Viewing the random streets does the same thing, only on a wider spectrum. There the player can view anything from beginning players to veterans, and all can be rated. Note: While visiting the other restaurants, be sure to click on any trash on the floor to earn coins and experience points!

List of Needed Changes

A few changes would make Restaurant City the best game on Facebook. The developers need to either reduce the cost of the food that gives the employees energy, or they need to increase the maximum working time above two hours. They have added the ability of friends sending food to the employee’s lunch box. This is helpful but not good enough. A better change would be for friends to be able to gift ingredients.

The second change is to reduce the cost of the ingredients in the market, and offer more than only three. If more are needed, the player must purchase PF Cash. For those who want the game to remain free, make sure to check every day to play the food quiz and get the free daily ingredient.

Restaurant City is the Best Cooking Game

Having played many games in the past month, Restaurant City is one of the few that players will want to stick with for a long time. Looking forward to each new level to see what else gets unlocked is exciting, which is vital to keeping interest up. Restaurant City is a book that shouldn’t be judged by its cover. At first glance it may seem like an impossible game, but it is like an onion. It has many layers.
