Explaining the Reputation to the PvP play in the new free MMORPG game of Runes of Magic.

In the free mmorpg game of Runes of Magic, players can choose a PvP (player versus player) server or a PvE (player versus environment) server, depending on what style of play they are most wanting to experience.

PvP is more about setting players against other players in that virtual world, while PvE is the player battling against the environment through professions and quests. There is a slight PvP aspect to Runes of Magic PvE servers, but both players will need to be flagged for PK (player kill) play and they can only duel each other. For information on the actual PvP game play on Runes of Magic, the player will need to go into a PvP server.

RoM Reputation

Runes of Magic PvP reputation can be good, neutral, or bad. Depending on how the character plays they may be obtaining negative reputation or positive reputation. If the player gets to be too evil, guards will attack them on sight. The colors of the player names change depending on their reputation.

Runes of Magic Name Colors

The colors of the players name will coincide with the player’s reputation. White names are pure normal characters with a reputation of -30 to 30. Yellow names, Orange names, and Red names are evil characters. Yellow named characters have a rep of -30 to -90, Orange named characters have a rep of -90 to -150, and the Red named characters have a rep of more than -150.

Light Blue names, Blue names, and Purple names are all good characters. Light Blue named characters have a rep of 30-90, Blue named characters have a rep of 90-150, and Purple named characters have a rep of over 150.

RoM Reputation Regained

If the player has negative reputation that they would like to work off, there is a way to gain positive reputation without fighting. For every 20 minutes that a player is not active in PK play will give the character a point of reputation.

A player can’t be in a house, an instance, or a safety zone like a rebirth spot. Also killing monsters that have over 5 levels on the player will gain 0.02 reputation (except instance monsters).

Reputation Benefits

There are some benefits to being a good character or an evil character. Evil characters see a damage increase, a TP (talent point) increase, and they have special items and titles. Good characters will see a HP (hit point) increase, and special items and titles.

Reputation Downsides

There are some downsides to having a good character or an evil character as well. Evil characters have lower defense, have a chance of dropping their loot when killed, and a chance of going to prison hell when killed. Good characters will have the down side of dropping loot.

Reputation is up to the player's actions in the game of Runes of Magic. In an interesting play on words, it's the character's character that will define how they are known throughout the game in the ways of their PvP skills and actions.
