Evony has just recently been released for play. Those with beginning accounts are finding themselves released from their seven day “beginner’s protection” play (where they aren’t able to be attacked from neighboring villages by troops) and begin to start their reign of pillaging and plundering to earn honor. To begin to build a city, form troops, and get their intel up and running, the player first needs to register for an account.
The Evony Website
While some internet searches for Evony redirect the user to sites that are not the registration site for Evony, going to the actual Evony registration site can get you one step closer to playing this real time 2D hybrid of SimCity and Civilization. Clicking the box at the very top of the page that reads “Do not display this page again” after the player has successfully registered can take the player straight into the site without having to reregister. For the first signup however, just fill out the registration and wait until the next log in date to uncheck the box.
Evony touts having instant gameplay with no download or installation, the ability to play free forever without having to access its in game “coin buying” system, over 220 quests, and the chance to own and operate up to ten cities. Nay sayers to the game show its obvious knockoff graphics to other high profile games and the intensely long build times if one doesn’t buy coins to speed the game.
Starting an Evony Account
- After reaching the Evony website, you will put in your email address as the login name. This is how the account will be referenced for future log ins.
- Then comes the Lord or Lady name. This is how you will be known in the game. Don’t put in Lord or Lady (it will show up in game as Lord Lord Hacker instead of Lord Hacker).
- Password and Confirm Password are the next to choose. Make sure these are easy to remember and are the same on each line.
- Then choose the radio button on male or female to correspond to the character played. Don’t be a male lady or a female lord; it will just confuse people in game.
There are some minor customizations players can make after the account is set up and they are ported into their city. This includes altering the graphic for the player used in the game. There is also the opportunity to switch your avatar and name as many times as one needs.
