World of Warcraft has experienced huge success on a global level. With each expansion, Blizzard have improved their game. Here's what they have planned for Cataclysm.

World of Warcraft went through three phases before the announcement of the newest WoW Expansion, Cataclysm. The first was the original game, otherwise known as Vanilla WoW. The second came with the release of the first major expansion, The Burning Crusade.

The third was started with the release of another expansion, The Wrath of the Lich King. Blizzard are planning to mix things up again with the release of their third expansion, Cataclysm. Here is a rundown of the new features.

New Races in WoW: Cataclysm

The new World of Warcraft expansion will bring two new races to the game. This means that players fighting for the Alliance will be able to choose Worgen as a race, and Horde fighters will be able to choose Goblins. These two new races will have their own starting zones. New races seem to compliment one of the other features of Blizzard's next expansion, Cataclysm, quite well.

Classic World of Warcraft Zones Remade

Perhaps the most interesting change to the game from the veteran World of Warcraft gamers' point of view is that many of the old zones from Vanilla WoW will be remade or changed in some way. Although the major reason for this is to compliment the new story elements involving Deathwing, the changes also allow Blizzard to "re-do" the entire leveling process, updating old content with new technology and new graphical enhancements.

On top of new races, Warcraft gamers will also get the chance to create new characters with never-before-seen race-class combos. These new characters will be leveling in a new environment, enabling Blizzard to extend the life of their game.

New Warcraft Profession: Archeology

A new feature in the next World of Warcraft expansion that many gamers will be excited about will be the addition of a new profession; archeology. This new profession will allow characters to unearth artifacts in the newly affected world. These new artifacts will enable the gamer to follow a new feature, the Path of the Titans, which allows them to customize their characters more deeply than the normal talent system.

This new profession is unique as it is designed as something that all players will be able to enjoy. Instead of having to abandon one of the professions that has already been explored in the game, players can simply add this new way of customizing their character to their gameplay experience!

New Raids and New Dungeons

Of course, no new WoW Expansion would be complete without brand new challenges to undergo. Blizzard have promised more raid and group content than ever before, ensuring that all gamers will have monsters and dungeons to defeat for some time after the game's release.
