Play Mafia Wars on Facebook without frustrating non-playing friends who may not wish to see Mafia Wars over-kill posted on their home pages.
Playing Mafia Wars on Facebook is a great way to have fun and meet new people who have similar interests. Friend base sizes will increase tremendously especially after posting on one of the tons of Mafia War online group pages. But what about the real friends that may reside on a person’s page? Must they suffer through post after post about Mafia Wars player’s current achievements, hits or never-ending wish list pleas? Fortunately, by following a few etiquette publishing rules, non-Mafia Wars playing friends won’t have to hide posts from playing friends or remove them altogether. What Not to Publish on FacebookDo not publish a wish list ten times a day; even once a day is too often. The way to entice people to give gifts is to give them gifts. Gifting another player may entice them to gift back eliminating the need to publish a wish list constantly. Do not publish the daily lottery tickets. These annoy people and there have been posts abounding that state publishers of lottery ticket numbers will be hidden or removed from families. When gifting to another player, do not publish that fact. This annoys other players and is a breach of etiquette. Each time a person goes ‘home’ in Mafia Wars, they will receive notifications that a gift is waiting for them. This eliminates the need to announce that a gift is being sent to another person. Each time a player posts a message on a group page to increase their family size; it is posted on all their friend’s home pages. Some players post these constantly. This is particularly disturbing for non-Mafia Wars players and even annoys some actual players. Do not post on these sites more than once a day. What to Publish on FacebookPlease note that it is fine to publish or brag about achievements earned. It is also okay to publish jobs for the family to assist with; in fact, unless it is published, the job may sit undone for quite some time. Asking for help from the family will ensure the job is completed and experience points are earned quickly. Posting a thanks to the family after the jobs are completed is a nice thing to do. It helps others know the job is no longer open and it’s just good etiquette. A really great way to appease non-playing friends is to post a status statement to the effect that if a non-player wishes to hide Mafia Wars comments, they should simply click the “x” on the top right-hand corner of any Mafia Wars post. The option will come up to ‘hide’ Mafia Wars eliminating their receiving bunches of unwanted posts by players on their home page.
