Runes of Magic, or RoM, is a free MMORPG that has just come out recently and already has many thousand playing and learning about it. There are several controls to get to know in the game, from the movement buttons to the interface that controls the guilds and the skills in the game.

Learning all of these functions quickly can make one have a more pleasant experience in the game. This article will help learn the map, skills, and guild interfaces. To learn about moving a character in Runes of Magic see Learning Movement in Runes of Magic.

Inventory in Runes of Magic

The B button brings up the player’s backpack where they can see all the items they have collected. There are two of the tabs in the backpack that the player can use for storage, with an extra four that can be rented out if the player needs more space than what they have.

There are sections on the bottom of the backpack, one for the item shop items, one for the trashcan to toss items in, a sorter to redo the arrangement in the character’s backpack, and the last to bring up the arcane transmutor.

Main Control Panel

The main control interface has the item mall, search world feature, world map, mini map, and the color change. It has the profile of the character, plus their health and mana bars on the left. A target guide is in the center of your screen displaying the level of health and mana of the target.

Chat is on the bottom left of the screen while hotkeys and the experience bar are at the bottom full screen view. To take out this main control interface for taking screen shots the player will need to hit CNTRL-Z.

Character Control

The character screen is brought up by pressing C. The character interface has the stats and reputation on the left panel, the armor and accessories that are being worn on the center screen, and on the right will be tabs for the emotes, titles, weapons, skills, and level of the player’s class.

This is an all inclusive screen where the gamer can see everything about their avatar at a glance.

Skills Control

The skills screen is brought up by pressing K. This too is in a tab guide where the first tab is your general attack, crafting, and hearth recall skills. The second table is the player’s primary class and the skills involved in that class. The third table is for the secondary class of the player and the skills that are involved in that class.

The last, fourth, tab has the class specific skills. All of these can be upgraded with TP (talent points) using a click to the skill to be upgraded and clicking upgrade (the player will need the appropriate amount of points).

Guild Control

The guild screen is brought up by pressing G. If the player has a guild all the information on war info and guild resources will be here if the player is in a guild. If the player is not in a guild then this control will be empty until a guild has been found and entered.

Runes of Magic is a wonderful RPG world with great graphics and tons of quests and skills to learn. Learning the interface and the movement throughout the game can greatly enhance the gameplay at a faster rate.
