Facebook offers numerous online games for its users. PathWords is one of the many word games to help improve your mind and keep your cursor hand moving fast.
The object of the word game PathWords is to find three or more letters to spell a word in a single path, thus the name PathWords. This Facebook game loads with letters in columns going up and down. The rows going across are slightly staggered so there is more opportunity to connect letters than simply side to side. The path used to create words can be up and down, staggered sideways, forward, and backward. To score big in PathWords, several tactics can be taken. One is to spell as many words as possible in the 5 minutes allotted in the solo rounds or in the 3 minutes per round when playing against an opponent. Another tactic is to spell longer words for more points per word. Spelling Words QuicklyPlayers can click on three or more letters in a path but instead of stumbling around to find the Submit button, can double click on the last letter of the word to submit the word. This tactic saves time allowing the player to begin looking for the next word to spell. Scoring in Facebook PathWordsThree-letter words are worth 10 points. Spelling four-letter words nets players 20 points. Five-letter words add 30 points to the player's score. Six -letter words add 50 points, seven-letter words add 80 points, eight-letter words add 130 points, and nine-letter words add 210 points. Players who spell a ten-letter word in a path add 340 points to their score. Eleven-letter words add 550 points, and twelve-letter words add a whopping 890 points. Spelling Lots of WordsSpelling many words is the simplest way to score big. There are usually an abundance of three-letter words when the game appears on the screen. Examples of ways to incorporate harder-to-use letters like X, Z, Qu, and V are to spell simple three-letter words like SIX, ZEE, QUA, and VIA. How to to Find Longer Words from the Simple Three-letter WordsIf the letters Qu and A appear, players can look to see if a D is next to the A to spell QUAD. Or players can check to see if an A is on the other side of the Qu to spell AQUA, instead of simply spelling QUA. Spelling Even Longer WordsPlayers who hold off to see if an even longer word is available than four-letter words will score even bigger. If FOAM is available, players can check to see if a Y or an S is available to spell FOAMY or FOAMS. Players can also check for the letters R or S to end words, such as RACER or RACES. If a player can spell BEE, is an N or T available to spell BEEN or BEET? For DOT, DOTE. NAP, NAPE. Playing Quickly is KeyWhichever tactic players use--and more than likely it will be a combination of the above--playing quickly is key to scoring big.
