Facebook Mafia Wars players have more items to search for during their treks around the City performing various jobs for the Godfather. Players can now stumble upon Mafia Wars collectibles. Just as any good mobster would have a nice art or jewel collection, now virtual mafia members can have their collections of valuables as well.
As the collectibles are found they are sent to players’ Collections area. After collection seven of any one valuable, the collection moves to the player’s Vault. Each collection adds to the player’s attributes in a different way. Some completed collections add to a player’s energy while some add to their defense.
Valuable Loot Items
Currently there have been five different collections of valuable loot items identified. Each one having seven individual pieces that have been found in varying places throughout the City. These collectable items don’t start appearing as random drops until the Soldier stage and so far there hasn’t been a clear pattern of knowing when they are going to drop or if they are necessary for future jobs or just gifts from the Godfather.
It has been discerned that certain collections show up at certain levels of play, these levels are:
- Poker Chips 9-12 (Soldier)
- Sculptures: Levels 9-12 (Soldier)
- Cigars: Levels 13-17 (Enforcer)
- Rings: Levels 18-24 (Hitman)
- Paintings: Levels 25-34 (Capo)
These are the available collectables as discussed on the Mafia Masters blog and in other forums around the web:
- Cigar Collection: Ebony, Sky, Rose, Ivory, Turquoise, Gold, Royal
- Ring Collection: Topaz, Opal, Amethyst, Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby, Diamond
- Painting Collection: Warhol, Cezanne, Matisse, Rembrandt, Dali, Monet, Van Gough
- Poker Chip Collection: White, Brown, Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Gold
- Sculpture Collection: Rat, Sheep, Rooster, Monkey, Tiger, Snake, Dragon
As each one shows up in the Collections area of the Inventory section, players drag them to one of the seven slots until the collection is complete. It then is moved to the vault to allow room for another collection to be started. Several collections can be started at one time and moved to the vault as completed.
There hasn’t been any word yet from the Godfather of the game as to any future collections that might come available, but as any game player knows, you never know what the Godfather might do. The Vault does state there may be an expansion coming soon, which could indicate more valuable loot items are coming.
