Energy is a very valuable commodity in Mafia Wars. Players are required to do jobs to gain experience points. Gaining these valuable experience points allows players to advance up the levels. Until a player reaches the top status in New York, they get one energy point every five minutes. After reaching the top New York level, the amount of energy doubles to two points every five minutes. It is important to not waste these precious points.
Increase Energy in Mafia Wars
Players receive energy packs from other family members. These energy packs increase a player’s energy by 25%. When energy packs are received and used by players, they immediately have the option to send an energy pack to their own mafia. Send energy to the family at every opportunity to ensure that energy keeps flowing back.
Use up all available energy points before using energy packs. Players only receive their energy quota plus the additional 25%. Any energy points on the board will be wasted so use those up first.
A player can determine when their next energy pack will be available by going to the Home Page. Scroll down to the box next to player updates to see the time left until the next available energy pack. If this option is not provided, no energy pack is available. Post a message on facebook asking family members to send an energy pack.
Each time a skill point is earned, it can be used to increase energy. If a player receives a skill point, they can use it for one energy point. When player are at lower levels, it may be beneficial to increase energy points more so than increasing their attack or defense skills.
Bonus Points in Mafia Wars
Players sometimes have the option to ask family members for help performing a job. This is called a job bonus. Players earn money and receive experience points after the family completes the job.
When a job bonus is available, players will receive a message during a specific job asking if they would like help in doing the job. Publishing this message allows other family members to see that there is an open job. They will normally rush to assist with the job as they receive money and experience points. Choose the ‘publishing’ option when it is provided. Hitting ‘skip’ means the job will not be published on facebook.
To determine if a job has been completed, go to the Home Page. When the job is complete, a message will be posted on the player’s Home Page stating that their Mafia was eager to help with a job. The message will also indicate the amount of money and experience points earned.
